Designed for a single man, this Laguna Beach living room originally had a very out-of-date color palette. Now transformed, this is a space where my client can rest, relax and feel at home.
The Design Goal
During our consultation, my client informed me that his goal was to introduce a masculine aesthetic while creating a calming environment. White gloss floors give the space a fresh feel while dark walls create a calming effect when coming in from the California sun.
Aesthetic Details
I wanted to ensure that each detail added something to the overall aesthetic of the room, without making the “surfer vibe” too kitschy. The driftwood side table from Crate and Barrel is a unique find that tied in with the decor perfectly. Keeping with natural textures, I purchased the coffee table from Z Gallerie, and wicker chairs from William Sonoma Home.
